Dear Parents,
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Parish
Community of St Therese of Lisieux and St Anthony of Padua. We are a prayerful,
caring community entrusted in the care of the Franciscan Friars.
If you are considering a Catholic Education
for your child, I would like to commend to you our Parish Primary
School, St Anthony’s. We know that you value the holistic approach to
education that a school like this offers. The Christian and
Franciscan values the students are exposed to, and are encouraged to embrace,
will stay with them as they grow and develop.
The Kedron Parish Community is a vibrant one and provides many
outreaches into the community. Some of the programmes offered by our Parish
include:
- Children’s Liturgy - Every second weekend children’s liturgy is held during
the 7.30am and 9.30am mass.
- During Lent and Advent children’s liturgy is
held every week
- School Masses - Important events in the School Calendar are
celebrated with a Mass, as well as each year level celebrating mass on a
Wednesday morning in the Church
- Samaritans - A
Group of Volunteers who hold a weekly activities morning for the frail, elderly
and house bound in our community
- St Vincent De Paul - Men and women offering practical help to those in need
- Youth - Opportunities
for young people to participate in Parish life
- Educational Activities - Sacramental, baptism, catechist and
Right of Christian Initiation for Adults
programmes
- Visitation - Encompasses
taking Communion to the sick and meals and wheels
In addition to these, there are many other Parish Ministries which we
invite you to become involved in e.g. Readers, Special Ministers, Altar Servers,
and Hospitality after the Masses. For a
complete list of all Ministries, please go to www.kedroncatholicparish.org.au.
To enable the Parish to continue to engage in the local and school
community, we invite you to become regular financial contributors to the life
of the Parish. Information on how to contribute can be found of the parish website below.
As Parish Priest I invite you to become involved in the Community and
make yourself known to me. I welcome the opportunity to meet all new parents to
our School or parish masses.
You are very welcome at the Kedron Parish and I look forward to getting
to know you!
Yours in Francis and Clare,
Father Joseph Nguyen ofm
Parish Priest
