Parent Information Evenings (PIE)

PIE-header

Parent Information Evenings provide parents with an opportunity to acquire information about different aspects of learning that are taking place within the school. They are designed to inform parents about current practices and will often illustrate how parents can support the learning process in the home environment.

Parent Information Evenings are presented by Educative Consultants, Professional Specialists and or school staff.

11th August – Parent Information Evening

A parent Information Evening was held for parents in Years 3-7 on Thursday night 11th August. It focused on the philosophy of Middle Schooling which we model through our Year 6/7 classes. Year 3-7 teachers prepare students by developing critical and creative thinking skills and enhancing problem solving strategies that enable students to be independent learners through inquiry teaching. This type of teaching correlates with the intent of the Australian Curriculum and sets students up  for success as they become effective 21st Century learners.

Please click to view this video clip from Sir Ken Robinson who clearly explains how education has changed from the Industrial Revolution model to what is pertinent for today’s learners in the 21 century.
