MJR – Making Jesus Real
The MJR philosophy encourages us to get switched on to seeing something good happening in our school community and highlighting it straight away. This helps to make Jesus real in everyday situstions in the school. These practical ways of living Christian values assists children as they come to make many important decisions in life.
By adopting a W.E.S.T. approach to life at St Anthony’s we are all living out the Gospel Values each day.
W … Welcoming
E … Encouraging
S … Saying Sorry
T … Thankful

UBUNTU
UBUNTU Time takes place on designated days of the school term. The children gather in groups comprising all ages, from Prep to Year 7, and the Year 7 students lead the session with the teacher acting as the support person. It is during these times that our students experience the richness to which UBUNTU aspires – togetherness. UBUNTU addresses a central tenet of African philosophy: the essence of what it is to be human. This concept has two parts: That a person who is friendly, generous, gentle and caring will use their strengths to reach out to the weak, the poor and the ill – and not take advantage of them. Because of this outreaching they are expressing the second part, which concerns openness and large heartedness…put simply, they treat others as they themselves would like to be treated. Hence the UBUNTU message: “If I diminish you, I diminish myself”.
Also Parent Ubuntu sessions of tea/coffee chats and gatherings are also organised in Ubuntu space – the area behind the tuckshop.
