The focus on Math in 1T last week was 2D shapes. Students completed artwork representing pictures showing 2D shapes and recorded as many things about the 2D shapes and lines as they could. Students went on to use class feedback to take their art work from good to great.

Ava from Year 2 says “We are painting a treasure chest because we’ve been learning about pirates. We’re learning what the pirates used and what they wore. I like learning about how the used their swords”.
Mrs Blyth and Mrs Martin have been busily unpacking books in preparation for the Book Fair which runs until Thursday. The library is open 8am-4pm. Parents are welcome to come into the library anytime to browse and purchase. EFTPOS facilities are available.
Earlier this month we welcomed Kandida to the front office. Kandida has settled into the job beautifully and says she feels like a part of the family.
This term, our year 5 and 6 students play either touch or netball on a Thursday afternoon in the Zone 6 Catholic schools inter-school sports competition.

Books Light Up Our World! The 2015 Book Fair will be on in the St Anthony’s library from 25-28 May, 8am-4pm. A love of reading is the greatest gift we can give our children.
All students had the opportunity to attend a live performance by Artslink Queensland titled ‘Have you ever Heard a Wombat Sing?” Two passionate young musicians drew on their Indigenous heritage to combine stories or the environment with a range of musical styles.
